South Africa is now the epi center of drug resistant TB despite huge resources and a sophisticated medical infrastructure. TB represents one of the greatest threats to our communities, economy and future of our country.
TB is a curable disease.
The link between poverty (malnutrition) and TB MDR and XDR TB (mutation) are linked to a lack of drug compliance. Malnourished people who are nutrient deficient have difficulty in taking drugs due to nausea.
Over the past 8 years, SANTA has worked with a unique nutritional product e’Pap, formulated to address micro-nutrient deficiencies. Available in original, banana, strawberry and vanilla flavours, mixed with water, e’Pap makes for a nutritious meal and has shown to produce dramatic improvements in both cure rates and quality of life. A portion of 50 grams (4 table spoons) is made up with 150ml of water to make a daily meal of 200 grams. The monthly requirement per person is 1,5kg (3 x 500 gram sachets)
For as little as ZAR 60,00 (approximately 4 USD) you can feed a TB patient for a month and contribute to their full recovery through ensuring that they are strong enough to take their medication.
Help SANTA get e’Pap to their patients across South Africa.
The difference your donation will make goes beyond the one person who is fed. It will change the lives of the community and public at large.
If We raise more than Our target amount, this is how we will use the moneySANTA runs a number of programs focused on nutritional support, home based care and education in South Africa. Any money raised over the target amount will go to supporting one of our other programmes.
