We reserve the right to amend this Notice at any time and your use of the website following any amendments will represent your agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions as amended. We therefore recommend that each time you access our website you read these terms and conditions.

5. 5. We reserve the right to terminate your registration at any time if you breach these terms and conditions.
6. 6. As a registered partner you will use the templates provided on the website to upload any projects you want donors to support. You will provide all written content that describes the project and why donors should donate to each project, the amount required and set any minimum hurdles for such funds.
7. 7. You will define the parameters of each project (the need, amount to be raised, time frames to raise the funds, the donation categories and price points (e.g. buy a bed at R500 for an orphanage).
8. 8. You will enhance your profile and those of your projects with images, logos, photographs, videos and links to your website. All copyright in such images, etc. will be shared with GlobalCaritas.
9. 9. GlobalCaritas will provide you with certain guidance and support to assist with uploading and marketing projects.
GlobalCaritas is built around the concept of worthy projects. Donors give to projects that they choose to support.
The project is a finite work with a clear goal. If funded it will bring something to life which might be a building project, equipment that needs to be purchased, the ability to help someone individual achieve a specific development goal (e.g. more beds, a new vehicle, new facilities, feeding more children, putting additional students through training etc).
You should be able to set a financial target to it and a timeframe within which you want to raise the funds so that you can start / or finish the project. We expect our charitable partners to put some effort into presenting compelling projects that donors will want to support.
Your project title appears at the top of your project page and will also draw attention to your project on the discover pages. It should therefore be simple, specific, and memorable. It should be clear from the title what you are trying to achieve.
Be careful of titles that are too long and / or obscure. Avoid words like "help,” "support,” or “fund.” The title should link to the “why we need your backing” paragraph as these form the content that will appear on the home page and discover page. The title and why we need you backing need to attract the donor to click through to discover more.
Your funding goal is the amount that you need to raise for this specific project. You need to enter a ZAR value here. It is not necessarally only the amount you hope to raise with GlobalCaritas but you might choose to limit it to the GlobalCaritas amount if you are pursuing other fundraising options.
This is the time that you have / or have set to raise the money required to start the project / or complete the project.
We recommend that projects have shorter target timelines. Rather break up a project into 3 month targets than try and raise money for a whole year. Shorter durations have higher success rates. They create a helpful sense of urgency and they allow you to communicate back to donors more regularly on progress.
In the project description you should make it clear what your goals are and the timing you have set around them (e.g. we need to raise R10,000 by the 25th of September to start building; We hope to raise R1m by the 30th of June so that we can move the children into the new ward).
Choosing the right combination of categories helps the right donors find the right projects. You can select as many of the categories listed as you want but they should always be relevant to the project you are raising money for. If you mis-direct potential donors you will alienate them from your project, your charity and from GlobalCaritas. Select the categories wisely.
We will review this selection before publishing the project.
Donors will want to search based on location. Keep is simple ‘Town; Country’.
This is the space where you can provide as much information as is necessary to help potential donors decide to give to this project. Useful information to provide might include the background and history to this project, the detail of what you are trying to achieve and why you think it will make a difference in the lives of those that will benefit from it.
You should mention why you need the backing of online supporters. Remember that the information you put in the ‘why we need your backing’ field can and should be repeated here.
If you are pursuing other avenues for raising funds you should talk about them here. It is useful to support your test with photographs and any other illustrations or videos that help get the message across.
Earlier you entered a funding goal and duration for this project. In you project description you need to explain your funding goal. The more information you provide the donors the more likely you are to raise the funds you need. Communicate with them. If your project is dependent on you reaching certain hurdles before starting the project (e.g. enough money to lay foundations) this should be clearly mentioned.
You should also clearly mention what you will use the funds for should you not reach the hurdle level e.g. allocate the money to another project. You should make it clear what your goals are and the timing you have set around them (e.g. we need to raise R10,000 by the 25th of September to start building; We hope to raise R1m by the 30th of June so that we can move the children into the new ward).

Project tangibility is one of the most important things to get right. Donors prefer to buy something tangible, something that they can point to and say “I gave that”.
We therefore use the concept of a “Brick”.
This space gives you the opportunity to create that tangibility and just like buying one of the bricks for a new building is very tangible. Try and break your funding need up into tangible pieces that donors can select. These ‘bricks’ might be the same thing but in increasing quantities (eg 1 water purifier then 10 water purifiers; 1 child through a course or 1 child through 3 courses) or they might be different items (eg beds versus heaters; or 1 child through a course versus the text books for the course).
Spend time thinking about this is the context of your target donors. What makes it easier for them to give? What will give them greater joy because it is more tangible? Can you provide feedback that will confirm how the money was spend (eg can you provide an update that say “we bought the text books for all 20 children on the programme”?
